Aldergrove looked after Dad wonderfully when he went there from Russell's Hall as a step down last December, unfortunately he wasn't to come out and in his final days the care and compassion shown to him and us family was excellent even though they had problems with staff due to covid. Have to speak as you find. Thank you Aldergrove.

I work at Aldergrove Manor and have done for 6 years, I firstly want to thank the staffing team for their hard work and dedication over the last 24 months. It has been an incredibly difficult time and heartbreaking at times, they have stopped seeing their own loved ones to care for our residents safely. It is so disheartening to read comments about visiting restrictions and to be made out that this is our doing. We are trying to protect our home resident and staff. We can appreciate the frustration but it is really upsetting when we are being personally targeted when this is a procedure happening throughout the world. We did not cause COVID and we are dealing with the aftermath daily. We face regular abuse and threats, the staff are compassionate and loyal to the home and love the residents. We are a family and we continue to give the best that we can in the safest way possible. I will not give us 5 stars because no one is perfect and we are always striving for improvement and the best. Thank you to our families who are kind, supportive and always considerate to us.

Such a bad experience , there isnt enough space to list my complaints! Mom blind and on one occasion over the phone talking to mom one carer asked if she wanted to read a book!!!! Even when visiting was allowed I was told visits weren't happening , I had to ringocal authority to confirm that visits were happening. Couldnt contact mom via her mobile as half the time it wasnt switched on or charged. They lost all my moms clothing some of which she hadnt worn.every visit i told them that the others mom.was wearing weren't hers. She hadnt eaten or drank for 4 days , she was 90, diabetic and ind and bedridden.they only called GP after 4 days. I put complaint in regarding various issues .so heartbreaking to think moms last months of life were spent there. Avoid

Disgusted after trying to visit my mother today ... she has been bed ridden for 2 years and the only place they could accommodate a visit after waiting a week for an appointment is an outside hub which she was so anxious screening to go back to bed .. there are no bedside visits allowed unless it is end of life care ... so I need to wait for her to be on her death bed before I can visit .. 😩 how can this be a care home ... there is no understanding of individual needs for mothers situation who is most comfortable in bed ... but no bedside visits ... now I need to wait until they deem its the end of her life 😭
