Here at Allestree Fish Bar we believe only the best will do. Traditional methods are used in all areas of the preparation of our product, from filleting, to cooking and serving. We only ever choose premium quality fresh cod and haddock fillets, which are delivered on a daily basis direct from the docks of Grimsby. The best quality cooking medium is used giving a great tasting product. Potatoes are all prepared on site creating a great tasting thick chip. We try our best to cook our food as needed and to hold it for just a short time, thus giving you a fresh and hot product. Our kebabs are always prepared to order. We endeavour to give you a great tasting kebab made up with hot tender meat, freshly cut salad and a sauce to complement your choice of meat.

Love this place. Rescued me again after a very long day and not being able to face cooking tea. Lovely food, really friendly staff. Fish and chips are lovely, not greasy at all and my son loves the sausage, chips and gravy.We never go anywhere else. Oh I also rate the kebabs but didn't have that tonight! Thanks again.

Friendly, helpful, efficient staff. All food excellent as always. Just recently discovered the cheese and onion fry it's - delicious. Pineapple fritters are really good as well. Once a week treat for family - wouldn't go anywhere else. Very easy to order on line.

Recommend the fish and also the chicken meat. Both delicious! The chips are decent, maybe not quite the best I’ve ever had but they came close. I’ll definitely be coming back here for fish and chips. Long queue at 7pm on a Friday (as expected) but moved relatively quickly so not a problem. Sounds like you can ring and pre order if you’re in a hurry to collect.

Can't fault this place really, called in today for 2 small fish & a portion of chips to share with my wife oh 2 curry sauce also, the owner did me some batter bits/scratchings because i mentioned liking them so thanks for that 👍 Everything was nice & fresh & hot and consumed up Allestree woods in the van 😋 Will definitely be calling in again.

Thank you Tom for your quick response to my review. I will try and get in to speak to you on Thursday. I have amended my review/score to reflect your excellent customer service. ……Went here for lunch today. No large cod ready so ordered one and was told it would be about 8 minutes, which was fine. When it was ready the lady put out the chips and then the fish in a separate box. As she did I thought it looked a small fish. When I got back to my car and opened the box and said to my wife it was a large cod my wife didn’t believe me and thought I was having a laugh. Smaller than last fish from here. Owner quick to respond will pop in to speak to him
