My Mam was a resident at Bedewell Grange for just over 12 weeks earlier this year and her stay was so traumatic for her and for us as a family, only now, months later am I able to write this review. Although Bedewell Grange looks aesthetically pleasing and ticks all the boxes on paper, the Dementia floor is quite frankly horrific and not somewhere you would want your loved ones to end their days. My poor Mam was extremely anxious, vulnerable and scared whilst she was there and received terrible injuries which included a broken nose, a severe head injury which initially was suspected to be a fractured skull and required 8 staples to the scalp (and then another head injury on the same day) both requiring hospital treatment and scans, facial bruising and abrasions, a black eye, a suspected broken hip and many more bumps and scrapes in only a 12 week stay. (We have documentation and photographic proof of all of the above). The Dementia floor is an absolute free for all, where the poor residents are left a lot of the time to their own devices, wandering from room to room, anxious, distressed and directionless with very little to non support or reassurance from the staff. My lovely Mam is in a wonderful nursing home now and is thriving as she's now receiving the care she needs, care Bedewell Grange didn't seem to realise or recognise as necessary in a late stage Dementia resident. This review isnt meant as spiteful or reactive, as I only do this in the hope that a family does read this who are in a similar position as we were and are considering Bedewell Grange for their loved one and this makes them reconsider, saving them heartache, many sleepless nights and bitter regret for the rest of their lives. Do your research then do some more and do not leave your loved ones with Dementia/Alzheimer's in the care of Bedewell Grange.

Parents are precious but I would have no problem recommending Bedewell Grange to anyone considering a home for their loved one .

Realising that the time would soon come for my uncle to go into a home I decided that I should start to look so that I was prepared. I visited Bedewell Grange and had no reason to continue my search. As Margaret, the lovely Manager, walked me round the happy atmosphere, bright and clean rooms, caring staff, happy residents, it said it all. Lunch was about to be served and it looked delicious. My uncle was in hospital and not long after it was confirmed that he did not have capacity and had to have full time care. He had been adamant that he would not go into care and every time I mentioned it I was met with “NO, NO, NO. He was moved to Bedewell Grange and Margaret even came in over the weekend to help him settle. I am his closest relative and live 300 miles away. I went to visit him during his first week and he said “I love it here”. I cried I was so relieved. I cannot commend ALL the staff highly enough. Even the handyman had hung some pictures, I’d taken to him from his home with with care and sensitivity. This really is the nicest home I have ever visited and I’ve visited a few
