I cannot rate this home highly enough. My mother spent almost a year there before passing away. The staff were wonderful, the home itself was warm and welcoming with plenty going on most days. My mother was really happy there and so was I . So glad I found this home for my mam. Excellent.

There are not enough stars to rate this care home !!! My Dad was in the Dalton Green unit of the home which was for EMI patients . Due to my Dad's Alzheimer's he could be very difficult at times and the kindness and patience was always shown to him. I could go any time of the day to visit him and was always made to feel welcome .My Dad passed away at the home and for myself and the rest of my family we felt he was at peace . Thank you to all the staff who cared for him you made the last four years bearable for me knowing he was taken care of with compassion and kindness .

This "care home" describes itself as giving "person-centred care", but that is quite obviously simply a meaningless slogan. How any person or group of people can be so callous as to take away from an 87-year-old man, a widower who just lost his life's partner, the only friend remaining to him, his wee dog, is beyond my imagining. You would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by the old soul's tears on BBC Breakfast. I certainly would never consider leaving a loved one with people who seem to be so unfeeling, unsympathetic and cruel. I am ashamed and disgusted that this is happening in Scotland,

Dogs are family. What kind of a 'care' home are you. You have no concept of the meaning of either of the words 'care' or 'home'. Dont be faceless uncaring robots. Leave the pets alone, they are all some people have left. And remember, one day you too will be old and maybe alone. Is this how you would like someone to treat you? Just grow some compassion why dont you!!!! Or alternatively rename the place as 'Heartless Home'

How can this company refer to itself as providing people-centred care when it is causing one resident extreme emotional trauma (see case of Bob and Darkie). And how can it justify this pet policy as anything other than victimisation when it blatently advertises that another of its homes (Westfield-Care-Home-Lockerbie) has just acquired a new kitten? And is it true that the manager feels that residents do not have the capacity to have an opinion? Is it possible to leave less than a ONE STAR review google? Interestingly, the home remains publicly silent on the matter. Come on Care Inspectorate - show some teeth: surely this is not evidence of acceptable care standards?
