I would highly recommend Mike as a driving instructor for anyone who is looking to learn to drive in Cambridge. He was always very patient with me (and I can be difficult at times!) and very adept at describing the workings and mechanics of the car, so that I could better understand what I should do when driving. Not only did he teach me how to drive safely in order to pass the test first time, but he made sure to demonstrate the best ways to drive so as to make things as comfortable as possible for my passengers. He was also conscious about sharing ways to keep costs down and to reduce emissions Throughout the learning process, Mike made his lessons enjoyable, interesting and effective. Not only did he focus on improving my driving technique, but on the occasions when I was struggling with some personal issues, he was supportive and understanding. Overall, he is just a top guy!

Mike is a fantastic instructor - he is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and patient. Lessons were well-paced and enjoyable, and he taught me not only to be a safe driver but also an efficient and eco-friendly one. Mike was always friendly, and I learnt a lot about the mechanics of how things work which built up my understanding of good driving techniques. With his help, I passed on my first attempt with 3 minors; I couldn't have learnt from a better teacher, and can't recommend him enough!

Let me start by saying I know this is a long review, but once you have read my review (along with all the other great reviews) you will want Mike as your instructor & be grateful for reading my in-depth review that helped you find one hell of an amazing instructor, leading you to write your own great review yourself about Mike once you passed your test! Mike is an awesome driving instructor & one hell of a genuine, top notch bloke, it’s like having driving lessons with one of your best mates, but with the fact he’s a highly skilled driving instructor, I see why he receives such great reviews & so highly recommend!!! Before starting my lessons I booked other lessons with 2 other instructors to see who would be the best fit for me, after my very first lesson/assessment which was with Mike it was clear that all the reviews about Mike were spot on, we clicked very well & it was clear to me he was the one to be my instructor, so I immediately booked more lessons with Mike on the spot & then I went home & cancelled my assessment lessons with the other instructors, trust me once you’ve gone with Mike you won’t want to go elsewhere. It’s so very true that he is so very passionate about his job that to Mike it’s more than a job to him he takes great pride in his work & in helping others! He truly loves to share his wealth of knowledge with his students! The best way to describe Mike is…he’s one of those rare teachers that you had in school, the one that you’ll never forget because that teacher was very passionate about there job, so eager to teach, generally cared about their students, would always be there to help you because they want to help & that’s who they are…well that’s Mike he goes above & beyond the call of duty! He doesn’t just teach you to drive at a standard that is just acceptable to pass your test, he will teach you to at a high standard because he not only wants you to pass, he wants you to excel, to become a very confident & very safe driver with great driving skills that’ll keep you & others safe in the long run. Then on top of that he is passionate to help you in other ways like the maintenance of your car & the way to drive your car to get the best out of your car, in turn saving yourself a lot of money! for example I have been driving for many 26 years without a license (I know very bad me!) & so I had learned many bad habits over 26 years of driving & with 26 years of automatic thinking & muscle memory, Mike certainly had his work cut out, stripping away all my 26 years of bad habits, automatic thinking & muscle memory along with my style of driving (which causes a lot of wear & tear on many key areas of the car becoming very costly). Well I’m happy to say he succeeded in doing all of this in a short period of time! I passed my test on my 1st attempt & only a couple of minors. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks well they clearly haven’t met Mike yet!!! He stripped all my bad habits, driving techniques infusing valuable driving techniques to mould me into the best driver I can be. I was a confident driver before my lessons & after the lessons with Mike I have become extremely confident & feel I am a far safer driver than ever before with a wealth of knowledge of not only how to drive safe & well to a high standard but also how to treat my car well, how to look after it, therefore getting the most out of my car! Now my test is over Mike has fulfilled his duties as an instructor in making me a great driver, he doesn’t stop there, he is still helping me out out of the kindness of his heart, going beyond his duties as an instructor! He is advising me & helping me buy my first car. Now that speaks volumes & a true testament of Mike’s character & how much he cares about his students, always eager to help in any way he can.

Mike is an excellent driving instructor- his teaching method is thorough and patient, his lessons are paced well, and he’s easy to get on with. I felt very safe driving his car and thanks to him I passed my test first time with only 3 minors. Very pleased and I’d recommend him to other people!
