I've driven 40,000 business miles a year for the last 25 years and have, in that time, consumed a few pork pies. None of them compares to the one I bought today at Firth's. - And I've lived 2 villages away from their Boston Spa shop for all of that time. My loss.

My favourite shop. Family owned with the nicest and most helpful staff. They know all their customers names and are never short of a smile. Super selection of top quality meat, and game when in season. The best sausages and dry cured bacon I've ever found, with eggs and bread rolls to complete a one-stop breakfast. Delicious pies, pasties and sausage rolls, all freshly made. And recently they have expanded to provide a wide range of top quality fresh fruit and veg, plus a selection of plants and even Christmas trees displayed outside. So good to see an already successful and popular business not resting on its laurels but moving onwards and upwards. A shopping trip no longer involves going to the butchers and then onto somewhere else for the rest - I can get it all at Firths.

This is a great butcher's. Best sausages ever. All the meat is top notch. I love the dry cured bacon, the gamon steaks and the beefburgers are amazing. Also the best Scotch eggs imaginable. You've got to give this local treasure a go
