Our aim is to service boilers and other gas appliances thoroughly and properly, all too often we find this is not the case. A boiler service should take at least 45 minutes and also cover checking the Gas meter and where possible gas pipe throughout the property.

Josephine Trotter1 StarDavid Owen & Sons worked for me and my parents for a decade. I recently asked them to return, for the third time, to fix a leak related to my boiler. In response to my friendly voicemail, I received a curt email informing me they were no longer prepared to do business with me “due to a history of consistent late payments.. over the past few years” and saying “we can no longer attend your property”.
I was so shocked I called them to see whether I could reconcile the allegation. You won’t believe this – I didn’t – but they had blocked my number immediately after sending the email… almost as if they were anticipating an unsavoury response. I felt humiliated and assumed they MUST have confused me with someone else. Last time the son left my property he was chirpy and assured me, yet again, he’d fixed the leak….THIS TIME.
It turns out that when my father was terminally ill – a gentlemen they were well acquainted with – I forgot to pay a bill and they had to chase me a few times…..back in 2018! This incident represented a minute fraction of my relationship with David Owen & Sons, and they have been back to my house since. I have no record of any other late payments.
And meanwhile I still have the same leak, the leak for which I have so far paid hundreds of pounds to David Owen and Sons to repair.
