By a country mile, the worst experience ever encountered in dealings with local tradespeople over the last 40 years. FAILED to attend first 8.00 appointment. FAILED to respond to texts and voicemails for 3 hours before advising new appointment 1 day later (cited family matters). FAILED to attend next day 8:00 appointment until 2 hours later. Assessed work and rearranged visit to complete work 2 days later. FAILED to attend 3rd appointment at 8.00. FAILED to respond to texts and voicemails for 3 hours and turned up mid-afternoon. Never an apology for delays. Completed the job which included an electrical certification (for Landlord purposes). When invoice was received, I challenged it citing total disruption to my planned week through his failures to arrive on site on time and ignoring texts and messages, prior to completion of work. A reduced sum (approx 10% lower) was agreed to compensate me for significant inconveniences. Payment made with no delay. Certificate would be sent within a couple of days. 97(ninety-seven) emails/texts/voicetexts over a 13 week period were sent asking for certificate to be forwarded. After 3 weeks he asked me to pay the 10% balance before he would issue certificate so he had to be reminded lower figure had been agreed for total disruption to MY working week. Just 6 responses (received over 3 months), were to give excuses for not sending certificate and advising that it would be sent in next few hour or days. (Stress, software problems, email issues, end of tax year priority. 1 text read: “I’ve just got software working right…you also deducted our bill so you become the least of my problems to be frank”.) Darren Eames just does NOT DO what he says he WILL DO. I sincerely hope his apprenticed son does not pick up any of his father’s failings.
