Hello, I’m Doug Holloway. I am a qualified Landscape Architect, Garden Designer, and Craftsman, based in Oxfordshire.
I try to create gardens that are vibrant & alive. I want you to feel the garden is beautiful, but when you’re in the space, I would also like you to feel surrounded by life; plants, trees, water & wildlife. I believe the balance that is struck between these elements and the hard landscape is unique to you, so your garden reflects who you are perfectly.
The hard landscape has its own important architectural beauty, but I believe ultimately, it often acts as a frame for the real focus of our attention, the plants and trees. I believe these living elements are the real centre of any garden concept, evolving and changing throughout the year, and over time.
I have 18 year’s experience in garden design, but also in construction. This has given me a considerable eye for detail, and a ‘hands on,’ practical approach to the work.
I have worked as a garden designer in Oxford, Oxfordshire & surrounding counties; the Cotswolds, the Midlands, even completing projects as far afield as Germany. Wherever you are based I am happy to consider each project on an individual basis.

Astrid Schloerscheidt5 StarDoug and his team did a fabulous job with our garden. The design suggestions took a very idiosyncratic space and turned it into a lovely outdoor area. While we could not implement the full design, the bits that the team did create have really connected the outdoor spaces with the house and given us a garden that we love to spend time in.
Doug and his team are very organised, meticulous and clearly take pride in achieving the best outcome possible for the customer. It was a real joy to work with them. Doug also provides much appreciated aftercare to make sure that we understand the plants and can get the most out of the design in years to come.
