When you’ve chosen your new glasses, we can order the most suitable lenses from your prescription or book an eye test if one is due. If you’re concerned about any aspect of your sight, we can also carry out an OCT screening using the most advanced Spectralis 4D eye scanner, which detects possible eye conditions such as glaucoma or macular degeneration before they become a cause for concern.    What an amazing company! I recently broke my favourite frame (beyond repair) & the team at Gibson Syme were able to fit my lenses into a new frame (they had the same frame in stock) at a fraction of the cost of a new pair. They did this while I waited, which saved me having to come back to collect them. This is one of the many reasons I use Gibson Syme - nothing is too much trouble, they offer a personal service & they don’t take advantage of their customers. Looking for an optician? I very highly recommend Gibson & Syme!! Past great experiences of private opticians have faded into insignificance since my consultation here. From initial visit and eye test to selecting new glasses and adapting old frames with new lenses, I found the whole experience both relaxing and surprisingly interesting. Everyone here is so highly professional and consistently friendly and helpful across the board. They have a fabulous array of frames, at price ranges for everyone, displayed in a very spacious and bright showroom. There's easy parking and the whole process went through quickly. I am delighted with the outcome. I urge you to try here first!

I have been a client of Gibson and Syme since they started as Spectacles Direct and I just wouldn't go anywhere else. They are completely customer focused with a personal touch that is sadly lacking in a lot of businesses now. I just collected my Nikon varifocals and I am totally blown away with how good they are! My very thorough sight test was done by Sharon, the varifocals expertly measured by Angela and I just put them on and they felt instantly 'right'. Nothing is too much trouble and I can not recommend them highly enough.

Visited Gibson & Syme recently for an eye test and new glasses. Efficient and professional service provided by the friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of modern and traditional frames, which come with lense cleanee in a pretty tuille bag, and free mints to sweeten up your purchase. Definitely worth a visit and there is free parking too!
