A yearly plan of five treatments utilises premium-grade professional products, only available to our fully certified staff. Since then, he has worked in a white wine vineyard in the south of France and undertaken a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in horticulture, to increase his relevant scientific knowledge.

Karl brings the same ‘winning’ attitude he used playing 15 years of professional Rugby League in New Zealand, Australia, England and France – to your lawn. You could even say he now aims to make your lawn the same quality as the stadium pitches he played on!

How long have you been with Greensleeves?

Seven years.

Tell us a little bit about what you do…

We give you a lawn you will love and keep it that way.

Who else is on your team?

Office manager Michael and lawn operatives Paul, Folau and Siaosi. – plus junior lawn operative Jake.

Do you offer any additional services?

No, we are very specialised and only focus on lawn care.

Which areas do you cover?

Maidenhead, Windsor, Old Windsor, Stoke Poges, Farnham Common, Iver, Burnham, Taplow, Cox Green, Littlewick Green, Bourne End, Cookham, Marlow, Langley, Holyport, Bracknell, Winkfield.

What’s the most unusual obstacle you’ve had to overcome, i.e. steepest/biggest/roughest lawn?

Usually, it’s access problems or hills. Sometimes we have to carry our machines, but we are big and strong so it’s not a problem.

Are you a dog or a cat person? (Or anything else!)

Dog, but I don’t have one as I have young children so there’s not enough time to care for a pet yet.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Having a nice outdoor & indoor work environment and meeting and helping the many pleasant people we come across through lawn care.

Why did you choose to specialise in lawns?

I have a farming background and I used to speak with various groundsmen through my sporting career. It was an easy step to make as my ‘parents in lawn’ were in the business already, in North West Lancashire.

Which is your favourite season to work in?

All the seasons have their own beauty, as well as good and bad points.

What do you like to listen to in your van?

All kinds of music but I often like peace and quiet.

Which is your favourite service station?

I go where the fuel card tells me to!

What’s your favourite post-work snack or lunch item?

Something healthy.

Are you a tea or coffee person? Or something else entirely?
