Genuine and friendly tradesmen! I have used Heat Xtra for over a decade now which speaks volumes in itself. They have done everything from servicing, repairing and replacing a boiler to fitting 3 bathroom suites for me. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they have always proved both reliable and honest, always completing work to a high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and have done so to many friends and relatives who have also been impressed with their work.

Just had my boiler and its pipework moved downstairs by Sat and Sunny from Heat xtra, along with a bathroom installation. I could not have chosen better engineers as they are polite and professional, and the work has been done to a high standard. I would not hesitate to use them again.

DO NOT USE THIS LYING INCOMPETENT COWBOY. My Micron 50FF boiler kept shutting down. From the status of the 2 LED's on the front and looking at the fault codes I worked out the thermister was at fault. Asked HeatXtra to fix the problem - he did not mention a call out charge or ask for the make of the boiler. Engineer examined the boiler and did some unnecessary checks on the pump and radiators . He wrongly stated the boiler itself was fine and the shutting down was due to too much sludge in the system - I was a bit surprised by this as he did not look at the status of the LEDS or refer to any manual. He said it would cost an extra £175 on top of today’s £60 fee to clean out the whole system which he could do in a week’s time. I paid the £60 fee. I called him a week later but he said he was a bit busy for the next week. I then asked another company to clean out the system and purchased a thermister just in case. The second engineer stated the problem was not due to sludge and but due to a faulty thermister which was what I suspected in the first place. The engineer from a different firm replaced the thermister that Heat Xtra had failed to diagnose as faulty and the boiler has been working fine since then. Heat extra would have charged £60 + £175 to attempt do unnecessary work and further £60 approx to replace the thermister which was all that was required - a total of almost £300 to fix something that should only have only cost approx £60 - £70. Due to HeatXtra's misdiagnosis I phoned and asked for my £60 back. HeatXtra Engineer made all kinds of excuses and denied even opening the cover to my boiler and claimed he refused to touch the boiler because it was already open which is a blatant lie. He also stated the £60 I paid him was a call out fee and refused to refund me. He also had the cheek to say if I knew so much about what was wrong why did I not fix it myself. Simple reason for this is that only Gas Safe engineers are allowed to open up and repair boilers After visiting his shop for refund he made a false statement to the police stating I had threatened his wife. Luckily I recorded the whole conversation on a voice recorder so I'm not worried. I have reported HeatXtra to the Gas Safe register and will be reporting them to Trading Standards. This man is more concerned about getting money out of you than his reputation. Please do not be fooled by the fact he is an elderly gentleman
