James replaced our steps which link the 2 levels of our garden last year and this review is way overdue! He thoughtfully planned, discussed and agreed his approach before starting, recommending a strong, attractive and very reasonably priced granite which I would never have thought of. The finished job is robust and attractive and enhances the entire garden. I would recommend James to anyone for his competence, reliability and fair pricing. He was also a pleasure to have around, a cheerful and positive presence, whatever the weather!

I decided to ask James for a quote because he says on his website he is 'not easily intimidated by overgrown gardens'. He was completely unfazed by my sloping back garden which has narrow access up 20 steps and was completely swamped by ivy and Russian vine. I also liked his precise quotations itemising the cost of each element of work and materials at very fair prices. In 6 days he totally transformed my garden. First he cut down and disposed of all the overgrowth and dug out the roots. Then he put up a very strong fence with concrete posts and removed 2 trees overgrown with ivy. He then created an attractive S-shaped border laying a membrane covered with wood chippings and turned a raised bed into an attractive feature with Scottish pebbles, a trellis and climbing roses. Finally he re-turfed the entire garden, sourced and planted the shrubs I wanted, and pressure washed my patio, steps and drive. At each stage he discussed with me the best way to proceed with imaginative suggestions for what would work best. He is conscientious, knowledgeable and versatile. It was a pleasure to have him and his colleagues around and the end result is better than I ever thought possible. I cannot recommend James too highly. Thank you very much James.

James cleared the very overgrown area at the back of our garden. The previous owners had let it go wild and there was a crumbling down shed and greenhouse frame. James cleared the lot and helped us arrange a skip. He worked really hard despite the rain! He was prompt and easy to communicate with. Would recommend.

Our garden was completely transformed from a complete disaster which was left by another garden company to an absolutely beautiful new lawn and perfectly re grouted patio. James is reliable,, courteous and takes an huge amount of pride in completing his work to an exceptionally high standard. I have already recommended him to several people and we will now never use any one else!
