Worst (and most expensive) mistake we made was hiring James Stroud (James the Gardener) to completely revamp our garden. He was uncommunicative; sub contracted the patio work and failed to tell us. Unreliable; he was rarely on the premises, leaving his worker alone, sometimes not knowing what to do. Full of excuses: for days and half days not worked, his workers, over ordering of materials. Incompetent; the groundwork was never cleared correctly, he flipped the old lawn and did not dig out the dandelions and, as a consequence we have dandelions coming through the new turf. In addition, he failed to honour his contract with us. We asked for a written, signed contract and we are still missing a gate and a portion of fence. He also reneged on ‘supply and fix shed’, giving some lame excuse that he was unable to supply. Shame on you James Stroud.
