Absolutely shocking place to go tired looking restaurant offering food if your would call it that staff which just got give no customer service what so ever. Prawn cocktail served on a plate chips which were no even cooked through and lasagne which had major hot spots through it chef Mike must have worked a double shift ohh and the nachos and cheese ain't no nachos here more like a thin nan bread cut into triangles and made crispy terrible. I will not be returning at all

Not impressed. Went with a group for a well deserved but delayed Christmas night out. It was very busy. Food service was slow. Some of our party have dietary issues and the length of time food took was concerning. After some food delivered, others had to wait even longer during which time other tables around us were served. Food was bland, fish and chips was all batter, salad was all iceberg lettuce (and no bacon as advertised). Pastry in the rhubarb tart was inedible. Staff friendly but seemed tired and perhaps overworked. Good restaurants manage the number of tables to ensure service but not here. I appreciate times are tough and expect food quantities to be controlled to keep prices down…. But not with batter and iceberg. 99p for 1slice of plain white bread and butter.

I’m genuinely perplexed at the amount of positive reviews for this restaurant. The food was absolutely horrendous. It’s such a lovely looking little pub/restaurant, I pass it on a daily basis when I’m out walking the dog. It always looks really lovely and busy in the evenings, even throughout the week. Even tonight as we were in, it got really busy! This evening, my partner and I visited the restaurant to have a little drink and some food. Much to our disappointment. My partners food, although usually a choice that’ you would describe as moist and flavoursome - was dry, powdery and tasteless. My meal which again is usually something you would describe as juicy and moist was more akin to a rubber eraser. Speaking of descriptions, on the menu, my food is described as “premium”, which it most certainly was not. Anyway, I’m not really fond of writing such negative reviews but we actually left midway through our meal because it was so bad. Hopefully it was just a one off experience and maybe we shall revisit in the future. However, it won’t be any time soon.
