Alexander Riches4 StarThis is not currently marked in the correct position on Google Maps, it is actually located at the TotalEnergies service station, about half a mile north on Eastfield Road. I used this Laundrette after being unfortunate enough to stay in a hotel room infested with bed bugs. It is located under an outdoor shelter and can be accessed any time. There are two washing machines (one 9kg max load and one 20kg max load) and a large tumble dryer. I made use of the smaller washing machine, which had the option of 30, 40 or 60 C washes, taking 25, 30 or 40 minutes respectively. I opted for the 60 C wash and it cost £5.50. The detergent was included and the machine dispensed it into the wash automatically. All of the machines are controlled by the same touch screen located on the right of the unit (not by the small LCDs located adjacent to each machine), and payment was via contactless debit card. I also made use of the tumble dryer. I seem to remember that the duration could be increased in intervals of 15 minutes. I opted for 30 minutes, which cost £7. I would have rated this 5 stars, but I thought that £7 was rather expensive. It is worth noting that there is a shop there as part of the petrol station, which was convenient for purchasing and eating breakfast while waiting for the laundry cycles to complete.Thursday 17th August 2023
Gary Porter1 StarThis one is worse than the one at Orton. It's completely taped off.
So it's off I go to the one at the Extra Services, which is a bit of a walk from the car park and the only structure with a bit of a roof, so every smoker stands under it smoking on a rainy day, and you have to stand in their smoke when getting your washing out. Not nice.
So not the best place to go, if it's not broken.Saturday 22nd July 2023
