Hello, my name is Ian Blackburn and I personally have over 35 years experience offering tree surgery and landscaping services. I have a BSc in Arboriculture and have been an Arborist Officer in Cumbria.   I have also been on TV several times over the last ten years to give advice on behalf of the BBC after stormy weather. Very simply if its fallen over or you’re worried, keep well clear.

Ian and the lads turned up on time and did a fantastic job of removing my Leylandi trees and grinding out the stumps. Replaced some fencing for me also and ground out a couple of other old stumps in the garden. Very nice people. Also charged a fantastically competitive price. Definitely recommend

Iain and his lads came out were really personable and did the job well following a quote a couple of weeks before. I had a big tree blocking out all the light in the bottom of my garden. They also offered loads of advice and on what best to do with the area. I would definitely recommend.

Mercia tree surgery and landscaping were hired to clear my garden of 40+ very big pieces of natural stone, to break up and remove a concrete pond and to remove a large tree stump. After my initial email (where I outlined the work I wanted done) Ian responded quickly and arranged to come over to survey my garden and to talk through my requirements. We agreed a price and Ian booked me in for the work to be done over 3 days. In the time between making a booking and the work being done Ian communicated with me several times, and even called the day before to confirm they would be arriving first thing in the morning which was reassuring. Ian arrived the next morning, he introduced me to his team of 4 labourers and then didnt waste any time in getting started. They were well organised and made a very heavy job appear light work. On the first day they broke up and removed over 30 pieces of stone. (These were BIG pieces and each one took all 5 men to lift onto the back of their 3 ton flat bed). On the second day they removed the last of the stone, broke up a large concrete pond and removed the tree stump using the stump grinder. By 1.30pm they had completed all of the work. Ian and his team put in some serious, SERIOUS graft. When Ian had initially told me the job would take 3 days I had doubts they would get done in this time. However it was no surprise that the job was finished ahead of schedule as every time I looked out into the garden to see how they were getting along they were always working! Other than to eat lunch I never saw them off the job. Based on my experience with Mercia Tree Surgery and Landscaping I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ian and his team.
