This young man has scammed me! He power cleaned my drain and put a patch on a joint, using 30cm x 30cm of fabric mesh and some 2 part glue (very easily accessible under the drain cover) and promised it would solve the problem of drains constantly blocking. He did one hour of work and charged me £400. When I phoned later and asked for a receipt, he just sent me photos of other companies’ drain clearing prices. He hasn’t sent me a receipt because I think he knows he’s scammed a pensioner out of two whole month’s food allowance. The drain became blocked again, only a couple of weeks after he left. I live alone and no toilet paper has been put down the drain, plus it is flushed with an extra bucket of water each time I use the toilet. I don’t think he is as honest as I first thought, and so I’m leaving this review in case anyone else falls for his charm. Like so many of these workmen, he is very plausible and friendly until he tells you the price. I wish I hadn’t paid him, but I was quite unwell on the day he called (which was several days before he was due). I felt vulnerable and now I feel stupid too! I have only ever left positive reviews previously, but I have made an exception in this case because I’m still upset about it 2 months later! Edit: After i received the reply that you see next, I phoned the man and he said he would come and re-do the blocked drain for free. He made an appointment but didn’t show up. I’m not surprised because I don’t think he wants to bother with this job. I had to find another drain cleaning company to unblock the drain, and was told that the patch was not necessary and I definitely wasted my money. So when you read the following reply, it is not a genuine attempt to put things right. He has my phone number and knows where I live, so he could have helped. I now have a clear drain but have had to pay again.

I Called AJ Plumbing and Drainage because my mum had a blocked toilet, Mum had called another company to investigate but was unable to find the blockage. After some investigation i noticed a Plant that was growing out the soil stack. I found AJ Plumbing & Drainage on the google, after reading some really positive reviews I gave him a call. I explained the situation and he arrived within half hour. He cleared the blockage which unblocked the toilet really quickly. Unfortunately the damage the root had done means we have to replace part of the soil Stack. But he patched it up so the toilet can be used. as a temp fix as we had Easter bank holiday coming up. We have arranged for AJ to come back after the bank holiday to do a more permanent fix. AJ is friendly and his prices are reasonable a compared to other big players. My Experience has been really good and I would recommend his services. Chris

Called plumbing and draining to unblock my toilet Ian said he would be there in an hour but he was there in 1/2an hour started the job straightaway and unblocked the toilet in under an hour a professional job by someone who knew what he was doing also giving me useful advice for future reference to keep things clear highly recommend him top man

Really appreciate the excellent service from AJ Plumb on emergency call out on a Saturday just before Xmas. Came round swiftly to deal with broken tap stuck on, helped with selection of replacement. Returned later in the day to fit the new tap once purchased. Many thanks again.

My family and I have used AJ a few times now for many different issues. What amazes me is how he takes everything in his stride and appears to make it all look so easy. No problem is too difficult. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Brilliant!
