I used Duttons previously to replace a sink and mixer tap and was happy with the job, so when I needed my toilet mechanism replacing I booked them again. The plumber turned up at the agreed time and the repair was completed to my satisfaction. The price was reasonable too. I have only used them for minor jobs so far, but have had no issues on either occasion.

I've used Robert J. Dutton Ltd. in the past and been more than happy with their work, but today they've outdone themselves. I called at 08:30 to request a call out for a faulty boiler, their engineer attended a couple of hours later and quickly identified the fault (broken pump). He then drove around three different plumbers merchants (after rescheduling some less urgent jobs) to find the part he needed and returned to carry out the repair. I was expecting this to take days to sort, my house is warm and cosy again now (Well, relatively, what with current gas prices!)

These could be the best plumbers ever, but if they don't turn up at agreed meeting times how can they quote for work. I took time away from work for an 11.30 appointment, he turned up at 12.00 as I was heading back to work, no apology, no explanation, just made out it was MY fault. If they can't be on time for quotes, how can you trust them to be on time to do any work. Don't deserve 1 star but can't post with nil.

Our boiler stopped working. We phoned and asked if they could come and take a look at it, not urgently as weather warm and we have an electric shower. We are also getting a new boiler in a couple months with house extension. Plumber came out within a couple days, adjusted the pressure - said we can use the hot water now but will need additional parts and labour to be fixed properly. Plumber said it would be £60 for that day. I agreed as thought £60 for temporary fix till we get new boiler I was happy to pay. The hot water lasted less than a day. When we called back we were told the £60 was just for diagnostics, not temporary fix. We were unhappy as they never told us they would charge us for diagnostics, there are no prices reflecting this on their website, and despite leaving us with hot water and then it breaking again the next day, they never offered to come back out and help. I wouldn't trust this company again. We have spent £60 to be told what we already knew.

A prompt service when my boiler stopped working came out same day after l phoned found the problem ordered the parts job done the following day. Parts and labour on par with other plumbers so will use them again amd will recommend to others.
