St. Peter's Church

St Peter’s Church was founded in 1746 and doubled on weekdays as a school room. The church was developed in 1902 with a new nave and later in 1956 the chancel was added containing the beautiful stained glass window. All are welcome to our services and events. We are a small friendly church who seek to follow Jesus and serve the community in the grace of the Holy Spirit. Children from Awsworth Primary School visit us each term and Messy Church provides creative activities, worship and food for all ages. We also celebrate christenings and weddings. The churchyard is open and a special place for remembering those who have passed away and who we remember by name at our Memorial & Thanksgiving services. Do contact Rev. Andy for more information.

Located on the main road through Awsworth. There is parking at the side accessible through quite a tight turning. Take care when leaving the car parking area. Communion service on Wednesday morning. Sunday service at 10.30 am apart from 2nd Sunday in the month when the service is late afternoon or evening. Marriages christening services are booked through the vicar. Funeral details can be booked through your funeral director. Christmas services include christingle which is a lovely service for children and families. Carol service is also held where the nativity story is told through the new testament. Christmas eve service starts at 11.30pm . Services close to 6th January celebrate the arrival of the 3 kings. Palm Sunday service is the week before Easter and Easter services are also held. At the end of June St Peter is celebrated by flowers of love when everyone is welcome to take flowers in to remember their loved ones. You can also choose to put flowers in l on z special date to remember your loved ones.
