Lovely cosy atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff! Drinks are well priced and the candle light is really charming. Would have been great if they served food - they seem to only have a few nibbles available each day and had run out when we went.

Would not recommend this place. Booked a table in advance, only to show up to find our table had been given away. Member of staff refused to move the people from the table. We then met the manager who is the rudest manager I’ve ever met. Tried to make it out it was our fault due to her and her staffs incompetence to keep a table reserved. Would not recommend this pub at all and would avoid at all costs.

My partner and I popped into The Dirty Duchess at 23:28 on Tuesday the 5th of May for a quick pint on the understanding that closing time was 00:00. We were informed on walking in that the bar was shut, close at 12 and last orders had been called 10 minutes previously. We were told we could go across to The Kelvingrove Cafe as she was sure they were open till 1. Given that we wanted a quick pint before midnight we were really baffled as to why we had to find somewhere that shut at 1am to do this. My partner commented that it was very early for last orders and was rudely informed “well go somewhere else then!” We went back to The Brass Monkey where we had just been and ordered another drink and last orders were called at 23:40. 1. I thought you got at least 10-15 minutes to order drinks after last orders were called. 2. The server was very rude to us. 3. Your competition welcomed us back happily with no issue while having the same closing time. 4. I have the evidence of my card transaction at The Brass Monkey happening at 23:34 in case the server claims that this happened later on. I did message on Facebook to clarify closing time/last orders/time at the bar and I was left on read.
