The University of Wolverhampton have invested massively in their facilities and the local environment – choosing a derelict former brewery site close to the City Centre as their new School of Architecture and the Built Environment and retaining as many of the old buildings and features as they could, before blending them and linking them together using new buildings and sections, which were all created using the latest building and regeneration techniques. Thus creating a home for the Architects of the future; who could learn from this fantastic blend of old and new around them. Although all of the security, fire and life safety systems installed are state-of-the-art; they were all still designed and installed to fit in as sympathetically as possible with the refurbished and new elements of the final, award winning, hybrid building.
