It is the teacher and the club (people) I was looking for. If you had your trial lesson and liked it – you are likely to stay for a while. There are no surprises to be afraid of. It's just very solid and good experience. There is depth and there is fun. Starting is easy – you don't have to be an athlete. But you'll become one over time if you keep training. You don't have to fight if you don't want to, but if you do – you'll find an opportunity to gradually train self defence in a safe environment. There is really nothing not to like, if you are looking for a good and all rounded martial arts club - you found it. Happy to answer your questions online. This venue is also quite nice in terms of location and places to change.

My daughter was a shy 10 years old when she started learning Kung Fu with Dave 2 years ago, he made her feel welcome and she has built up her confidence..soon after, I decided to take up the adult classes. Out of all the sports I have practiced, these has been such a holistic improvement in my strength, focus, flexibility, and I have enjoyed the team practices. With 20 years teaching experience, Dave has a great way to push you out of your comfort zone, making the training tough but enjoyable.

I’ve been training Tiger Crane Kung Fu with Dave for four years now, and it has made me fitter, stronger, healthier, and more confident. Dave is a knowledgeable, experienced and extremely patient teacher, who will not only make you good at Kung Fu, but will also push you to become your best self. Classes are always fun, and we are a friendly, welcoming bunch :)

I've been with Dave for nearly 8 years so far, which have been truly life changing. If you are looking for effective self-defence, improved health and fitness and greater strength (physical and mental!) - look no further! Forget the gym, Dave's kung fu will give you all you've ever wished for, and more! Worth mentioning also all the fantastic mates you will make in training, give it a go 👊☺

I've been training with Dave for three-ish years now and it has made a significant positive impact on my life, improving my physical health and fitness but also growing my discipline and self confidence. Classes are taught in a classical approach, meaning respect and manners for your teacher and fellow students is paramount (the kids classes are quite adorable examples of this; if I had kids I'd bring them). There are no big egos here - beginners are well taken care of by Dave and his assistant instructors. In terms of the style itself, I have trained in Karate, Wing Chun and Praying Mantis Kung Fu in the past. I really love and appreciate the tiger crane kung fu system. It is powerful and graceful, beautiful and potent. It has all of the aspects of a fighting system inside it (unlike some styles) and you will learn them over time. This includes strikes, blocks, kicks, traps, throws and a full range of weapons. The style is accessible enough to begin to learn but has a great depth. As your understanding and ability grows you begin to see more and more applications of even basic movements. More complex movements are revealed in patterns class and you get to apply these in semi-contact sparring classes. The last thing worth mentioning is the community. This is a fantastic group of people from all walks of life united in a love of this traditional martial art. There are training trips overseas and day long seminars you can use to deepen your practice and get to know some great people. Can't recommend highly enough. If you're curious, come along!
