I stayed in Victoria Halls in 2013's summer for two weeks. The facilities and prices were quite moderate. Yet, much luxury should not be expected. The hall offers clean and safe accomodation at its best. By the way, there was a caretaker named "Noel" at that time and he was a good man. I always remember our late night conversations while smoking outside the facility.

I've lived in student halls for all the years of my university education and Victoria (by far) has been the worst. The staff are not helpful- you have to remind them multiple times to get things done. Their record keeping is poor, especially rent payment. The ensuites have poor lay-out and the shower flow is awful! There aren't enough drawers for the desk. All the appliances in the kitchen are of poor quality (like the TV and oven). And no matter, what we do, the carpet has an awful smell. One advantage is that each flat has its own vacuum cleaner. The location (in the city centre) is convenient, but parking is tricky. With the Victoria postcode, it is impossible to get a parking permit without restrictions. Moreover, Victoria will not allow cars into their compound, even if your parents want to visit you. Overall, it's cheaper than other halls in the area, but you have to pay a price.
