Westmorland Electrical Ltd are a family run company based in Appleby, Cumbria and have been trading since 2003. Carrying out electrical installation and maintenance work for Domestic Commercial and Industrial Installations throughout Cumbria.

NICEIC Approved Contractor

Westmorland Electrical LTD has been a member of the NICEIC Approved contractor scheme since January 2005. Richard Dakin is the approved qualifying manager and has over 20 years experience in the electrical industry. All of our electricians are qualified to the City and Guilds I.E.E. 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2382-20 and C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection; in addition they are also qualified to C&G 2377 to carry out Portable Appliance Testing. Westmorland Electrical LTD is part of the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme and is able to self-certificate electrical works to comply with Part P of the Building Regulations.

Electrical Inspection and Testing

Our electricians know the current legislation inside out, and can carry out comprehensive periodic electrical inspections to ensure your premises and appliances are fully compliant at all times. They can spot potential problems early on and assess possible risks, while ensuring you remain open for business, with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT TEST)

Among the range of Electrical Testing services Westmorland Electrical deliver to our clients we can offer Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Test) for those Businesses, Landlords, Agents, Traders and Students who need to comply with The Health & Safety Act (1974). Our staff are directly employed fully qualified electricians able to complete Portable Appliance Testing (PAT tests) to the highest standard with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience.

Fixed Wire Inspection and Testing (EICR)

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. It is important to be sure that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition. It is recommended in BS7671:2008 as amended (Regulation 135.1) that every electrical installation is subjected to periodic inspection and testing.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports are the replacement for the Periodic Inspection & Testing reports on the Fixed Wiring aspect of an electrical installation.

The Inspection and Testing Electrician will establish the overall condition of all the electric installation and tell you whether it is satisfactory for continued use as well as detail any work that might need to be done. This remedial work will be graded upon importance.
