How did “Your Eco Gardener” come about?

After changing careers from a desk job over a year ago, I (Benn) started an apprenticeship in Horticulture where I had this vision to provide a service

 that is a bit different from the norm but with nature at the forefront. I thought, what do I really care about? I kept coming back to 3 things, my family, my planet and my community. So by creating “Your Eco Gardener”, I served my community with a planet-friendly option to provide for my family. I have studied, passed the relevant courses, completed an apprenticeship, fully insured myself and researched tools for hours in order 

to turn my life long hobby and passion into my job....well with your support. 

Recently I have teamed up with Tony who has over 2 decades experience in this field-he is an award winning,  qualified ecologist whose knowledge is second to none. The combination giving our customers experience and advice which cannot be matched.  

What’re your future plans?  

Although our tools are emission-free, our transport isn’t yet. We have plans to change that as a priority once a sustainable income is reached. An electric van would make the business emission-free, the only garden service in the south to offer this. Post Coronavirus, we have plans to work in partnership with local schools and clubs to educate on nature, wildlife and promote sustainable conservation. We will volunteer at our local garden nursery and help vulnerable people with their gardening, supporting our community as the community supports me to grow. Most of our work is private, but our vision is to be able to compete with larger companies. Gaining contracts from business and local councils will have a bigger impact on tackling greenhouse gasses and help companies reach their emission targets. But more importantly, it shows there isn’t always a need for old fashioned petrol-guzzling machinery.

There is a better way. 

Who are we?

Well, let us introduce ourselves, I'm Benn, an I live in Bournemouth with my wife and 2 young children. We all love being outside enjoying nature. My eldest will often be found helping me in the garden, digging for worms being her favourite pastime. 

Tony is also Bournemouth based and has a wife an young child who loves Moana and watches it every night. We can often be heard "singing" parts of the film to each other.
